FLUX will be distributed as a DVD for sale in surf shops and selected media outlets. It will be reviewed in surfing magazines, shown at surfing festivals and have magazine coverage.
FLUX will be accessed and shown via Christian Surfers International network. (26 nations)
FLUX will be aired and distributed under license by Australian Christian Channel, (Currently the potential Australian audience is approximately 2.2 million homes reaching a target audience of 6.4 million people.) Shine TV NZ (broadcasts throughout New Zealand on the Sky Pay TV platform reaching 421,000 homes.).....and affiliates in UK, Fiji, PNG, Solomon Islands, Samoa & South Africa.
From different backgrounds, situations in life and ages, we are gathering surfers. They share a love of surfing and a common faith arising from very different journeys.
Leaving behind jobs, family life, work hassles, school and the pressure of competition. They arrive in Auckland, New Zealand to be part of the journey of FLUX.
Major Location...
RAGLAN... All flowing in to live in the ‘harbour house’. Accessible only at low tide by car across the causeway lies the ‘harbour house’. Surrounded by water in the beautiful Raglan Harbour 5 mins from the fabled waves. This house will be the major base for FLUX. It is here that conversation will flow and lives will connect and change. Here the wild scenery and forest of the west coast will provide out of water fun. There are many friends and NZ surf champions to catch up with.
Other Locations...
TARANAKI... dominated by the backdrop of the conical snow covered volcano. The surf in this region is world class and diverse. There will be waves to ride, scenery to take in, surfing legends to meet and conversations with old friends to pick up on.
THE MOUNT... long known as the iconic beach holiday town it is also home to some great waves and amazing beaches. There are still a few secrets to be found on this part of the Coromandel Peninsular. Some great island locations with a boat ride involved.
GISBOURNE... Poverty Bay, Wainui Beach, Makorori Point. There are many great surf breaks here allowing for great barrels and long tubes. Fantastic scenery as you drive through the gorge and out into the wineries.
ROAD MAP... FLUX will be a 10 day experience. Based mainly out of the Harbour House (Raglan). Day or overnight trips to other locations... Dependent on surf and weather conditions.
CONVERSATIONS... FLUX is not just a surf movie. We have deliberately gathered a diverse group of surfers, different ages, different backgrounds, different lives. We will share their lives, their joys, their struggles. We will see that unity can come out of diversity.
COMMUNITY & CREATION...
FLUX is not about highlighting certain surfers or surfing styles. We celebrate the gift of waves; the rich experience of sharing nature and creation with one another or with no one. Recognizing there is immense joy in sharing our lives and experience with others. Weaving together the fabric of LIFE and FAITH. As people who have a few things in common, share a common journey...
A journey of discovery,.. discovering the depth and breadth of others... the value of the individual and the value of community... the beauty of solace and creation... the value of generations and surfing together...
